WHY VISIT THE NUTCRACKER? Because studies show that being involved in the arts positively affects children's ability to learn. Furthermore, an effective arts curriculum provides opportunities for students to make connections among the arts, with other disciplines within the core curriculum, and with arts resources in their community.
ABOUT THE ALABAMA YOUTH BALLET
The Alabama Youth Ballet was founded in 2003 by Deborah Grebel, and Stevan Grebel, artistic director. The organization is the performing wing of Grebel Dance which strives to reach out to all of the community, not only students at Grebel.
The AYBC is a non-profit, dedicated to providing local dancers the opportunity
to develop their talents in a professional and theatrical setting; working with dancers from around the world and build an appreciation of ballet arts through workshops and performances.
Now in it's 10th year, the company is focused on creating access to ballet performances for children and their families that may not otherwise be able to attend an arts event.
